3年に1回の全米一の宣教大会で、世界中の若者が集い、祈り励まし合い2007年からはじまる未来に向かって羽ばたいて行こうとしています。
日本からもInternational Student Track(Millenium Hotel)として、100名強の若者が参集します。
Urbana06には、144ヶ国、23,000名以上が参集します！
1990年のUrbana90から、JCFNは生まれました。
主の豊かな臨在と大いなる祝福をお祈り致します。
Urbana06は、2006.12.27-31に開催されますが、2007年を迎えるはじめのイベントです。
Campus Mission07やKOSTA-Japan07、そして2007.12を締め括るJCFN/Equippers' Conference07に到る2007年イベントの各々は、内外邦人宣教を担う海外の日本語教会・日本人教会や国内の海外宣教を担う諸教会につらなる多くの先生、愛兄姉のグローバルな祈りの協力・連携に支えられ
ています。
DNJとJCFNは、10-12月の3ヶ月間祈祷会を開催し、祈りを積んできました。

Welcome to the Urbana 06 Webcast. On the cover of the 23,000 Bibles we had printed for this Urbana is our theme, taken from Ephesians 4:1, “Live a life worthy of the calling”.
Through the study and exposition of Ephesians, men and women of God presenting challenging messages, and in depth seminars, we believe that God’s heart for the world and how we can be part of that will be revealed. It is our prayer that God will use these pages to call you ever more into his kingdom.

Celebration of the Call of God to All Believers

Though the halls were filled with thousands of excited college students, the atmosphere had a awed quality as the crowds moved toward the dome for the opening session of Urbana 06. Jim Tebbe, the convention director, explained the purpose of the convention: “to meet God and let him shape your life.” Months of anticipation were finally about to be satisfied.
After dancers in white provided a graceful call to join all of the earth in worshipping Jesus, Alec Hill, President of InterVarsity/USA, prayed that we would hear the voice of the Lord. Not just as if it were a call from our cell phones, but a call, whether to embrace the Father for the first time, surrender to the Lordship of Jesus, or to receive direction for our lives.
Jim Tebbe described visiting the site at Williams College in Massachusetts, where two hundred years ago five students prayed after committing their lives to the service of God’s church around the world. In response God moved mightily and a North American missionary movement was born. Jim expressed expectancy that God would move again in response to delegates’ prayers and responses of obedience.
Jim summarized what we would find in the book of Ephesians this week: That we belong to Jesus in time and eternity, that we are to love one another and belong to a community, and serve, witness and suffer in the world.
Dr. Ajith Fernando exposited the first fourteen verses, showing how we have both divine and human interests: We belong to God but we are sent into the world. Videos and drama brought up issues at the point where these two meet and often conflict: Apathy, greed, oppression, competing agendas, secularism, the powers and authorities of this earth, and confusion over what it means to live out the gospel in a fallen world.
Yet Jesus still reigns, as Dr. Fernando reminded us. And not only have we received grace, peace, adoption, we have a part in the building of his kingdom, and reign with him in the heavenlies.
